Logos are word marks based on the study of letter forms. Enlarging
and reducing type designed for text often requires redrawing. Small groups
of letters in isolation open up many opportunities to manipulate the
characters looking for ligatures and other common structural elements.
My starting point is setting the logo in as many fonts as possible,
exploring all caps, lower case, upper and lower cases, weights, condensed
and expanded, Roman and italic. Awkward letters are redrawn. Technical
drawing and letter spacing are extremely important.
